The Donostia Protocol

This event was held following a two-day summit on language diversity in Europe that culminated in finalising the Protocol to Ensure Language Rights, also known as the Donostia Protocol – a tool developed by a committee of organisations, including PEN International and the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO), in order to protect minority languages. The Donostia Protocol was presented to the public at this summit and was signed on that day by representatives from more than one hundred organisations representing approximately twenty-six languages.

Cet événement s'est tenu après un sommet de deux jours sur la diversité linguistique en Europe, et s'est conclu par la finalisation du Protocole pour la Garantie des droits linguistiques, aussi connu sous le nom de Protocole de Donostia. Cet outil a été développé par un comité d'organisations incluant PEN International et l'Organisation des Nations et des Peuples non représentés (UNPO), dans le but de protéger les langues minoritaires. Le Protocole de Donostia a été présenté au public au cours de ce sommet et a été signé le même jour par les délégués de plus de cent organisations représentant approximativement vingt-six langues.

La cumbre de dos días giró enterno a la diversidad lingïística y culminó con la redacción del Protocolo para la Garantía de los Derechos Lingüísticos, también conocido como el «Protocolo Donostia». Esta herramienta para proteger las lenguas minoritarias fue desarrollada por un comité organizador formado por entidades como PEN Internacional y la Organización de Naciones y Pueblos No Representados (UNPO, por sus siglas en inglés). El Protocolo Donostia fue presentado al público durante esta combre, y firmado este mismo día por más de un centenar de organizaciones representantes de unas veintiseis lenguas.
