Flyer for a conference titled Libertad Bajo Fianza, which took place at the Centro Cultural Pablo Antonio Cuadra (PAC) at Librería Hispamer in Managua on 8 September 2015. This event was co-organised by the Nicaraguan Centre and featured talks from writers across the world, including: Gioconda Belli, president of the Nicaraguan Centre (2013-); Josef Haslinger, president of the German Centre (2013-18); and Miguel Huezo Mixco, a writer and journalist from El Salvador. The conference was held for El Día del Periodista, which is observed annually on 8 September. It was held in commemoration of Julius Fučík, a Czechoslovakian journalist, political activist and outspoken critic of the Nazi party, who was executed in Plötzensee Prison, Berlin, in 1943.
