Day of the Imprisoned Writer 2018 poster

Poster promoting a literary event that was organised by the Croatian Centre and held in in Zagreb on 15 November 2018 for International Day of the Imprisoned Writer. This international day, which was started by PEN International in 1981, is annually observed to grow awareness of writers who continue to be persecuted around the world. This particular event included a film about the trial of Oleg Sentsov, a Ukrainian filmmaker who was imprisoned in 2014 for protesting against Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and whose case was supported by PEN International and many PEN Centres.

Cette journée internationale, initiée par PEN International en 1981, est commémorée annuellement afin de sensibiliser le public à la persécution vécue par les écrivains partout dans le monde. Cet événement précis incluait un film au sujet du procès d'Oleg Sentsov, un cinéaste ukrainien emprisonné en 2014 pour avoir manifesté contre l'annexion de la Crimée par la Russie, et dont le cas était défendu par PEN International ainsi que par plusieurs Centres.

Este día, iniciado por PEN Internacional en 1981, se celebra anualmente para concienciar acerca de los escritores que son perseguidos alrededor del mundo. Esta edición en particular contó con una película sobre el juicio de Oleg Sentsov, cineasta ucraniano que fue encarcelado en 2014 por protestar contra la anexión rusa de Crimea, y que recibió el apoyo de PEN Internacional y de numerosos Centros PEN.
