Flyer for the Swiss German Centre’s annual Day of the Imprisoned Writer event held at the Literaturhaus Zürich on 12 November 2008. The title of this event was lrak – Die Tragõdie der Kulturen (Iraq – The Tragedy of Cultures). It included a talk with Ali al-Shalah, Iraqi poet and author living in exile; a screening of the 2004 short film Die schwarzen Tage – Der Weg nach Babylon by Ursula Bachmann and Ali al-Shalah; and a recital of German and Iraqi poetry by the actor Daniel Rohr.
