Participants at the 3^rd Ural-Altay PEN Network Conference in Mongolia

Photograph of the participants at the 3^rd Ural-Altay PEN solidarity network Conference, which took place on 2-8 July 2011 in Ulaanbaatar/Höshöö Tsaidam. This conference gathered speakers of the Ural-Altaic language family as well as representatives from several PEN Centres. In the photograph, on the back row, third from the left is Dalmira Tilepbergen, president of the Central Asian Centre (2007-16). In the center, with red hair, is Kätlin Kaldmaa, international secretary of PEN International (2016-) and president of the Estonian Centre (2010-). Second to her right are Aziz Isa Elkun, secretary of the Uyghur Centre (2017-), and, behind him, Kaiser Abdurusul, president of the Uyghur Centre (2006-14). In the front row, fifth from the left is Lee Gil-won, president of the Korean Centre (2009-). To his right are Abdureshit Kerimi, auditor for the Uyghur Centre and Rabik Ismayilov. At the right end of the front row is Takeaki Hori, international secretary of PEN International (2010-16).
