Traber’s speech on Ken Saro-Wiwa

Typed draft of a text by Barbara Traber titled Text, den ich ungefãhr so an der ETH (vorlas schnell im Zug entworfen), which translates to “Text that I read out at the ETH (quickly drafted on the train)”, [1995], f. 1. In this text Traber, general secretary of the Swiss German Centre (1990-2000), writes about her grief at hearing about the execution of Ken Saro-Wiwa and stresses the importance of fighting for cases of writers in prison. Traber notes that this text was read aloud one day before Day of The Imprisoned Writer – which is annually observed on 15 November.

Borrador mecanuscrito de Barbara Traber de un texto titulado Text, den ich ungefãhr so an der ETH (vorlas schnell im Zug entworfen), que puede traducirse como «Texto que leí en voz alta en el ETH (escrito rápidamente en el tren)», [1995], f. 1. En este texto, Traner, secretaria general del Centro Suizo Alemán (1990-2000), escribe sobre el dolor que le causó recibir noticias de la ejecución de Ken Saro-Wiwa y resalta la importancia de luchar por los casos de escritores encarcelados. Traber especifica que este texto fue escrito el día antes del Día del Escritor Encarcelado, que se celebra anualmente el 15 de noviembre.
