Imprisonment of Václav Havel

Typed press release by the Swiss German Centre titled “Schweizer Schriftsteller und Schriftstellerinnen fordern die Freilassung von Vaclav Havel”, 20 January 1989, Zurich, f. 1. This press release contains the signatures of thirteen Swiss writers calling for the release of Václav Havel. Havel, the Czech playwright, essayist, dissident and first President of the Czech Republic (1993-2003), was arrested on 16 January 1989 for his part in a street protest during the Velvet Revolution. He was eventually released on 18 May 1989.

Nota de prensa mecanuscrita del Centro Suizo Alemán titulada "Schweizer Schriftsteller und Schriftstellerinnen fordern die Freilassung von Vaclav Havel", 20 Enero 1989, Zurich, f. 1. Esta nota de prensa contiene las firmas de trece escritores suizos pidiendo la liberación de Václav Havel. Havel, dramaturgo, esayista, disidente y primer presidente de la República Checa (1993-2003), fue arrestado el 16 de enero de 1989 por haber participado en protestas durante la Revolución de Terciopelo. Fue finalmente liberado el 18 de mayo de 1989.
