4th Palestinian international poetry festival

Two photographs of writers and PEN members gathered for the Palestinian Centre’s 4th International Poetry Festival, which was held in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Bethelem and Hebron on 26-30 September 1997. This event, which promoted Palestinian literature, drew together poets and writers from countries including India, Sweden, and South Africa. The photograph above shows the festival’s attendees on a trip. The photograph below shows a panel at the opening ceremony of the festival. Among them are Hanan Awwad, fourth from the right, president of the Palestinian Centre (1992-); and Lucina Kathmann, former president of the San Miguel de Allende Centre, vice-president emerita of PEN International and chair of PEN International’s Women Writers Committee (1996-2003), standing and speaking at the podium at the end on the right.

4o Festival internacional de poesía palestina

Dos fotografías de escritores y miembros de PEN reunidos durante el 4o Festival internacional de poesía del Centro Palestino, celebrado en Jerusalén, Ramala, Belén y Hebron del 26 al 30 de septiembre de 1997. Este evento de promoción de la literatura palestina, reunió escritores y poetas de países como India, Suecia y Sudáfrica. La fotografía de la parte superior muestra los asistentes del festival haciendo una visita. La fotografía de la parte inferior muestra los ponentes durante la ceremonia inaugural del festival. Entre ellos: Hanan Awwad, cuarta empezando por la derecha, presidenta del Centro Palestino(1992-); y Lucina Kathmann, expresidenta del Centro de San Miguel de Allende Centre, vicepresidenta emérita de PEN Internacional y presidenta del Comité de Mujeres Escritoras de PEN Internacional (1996-2003), de pie, hablando desde la tarima, en el extremo derecho.
