The 58^th PEN Congress

At this Congress the Palestinian Centre was officially welcomed into PEN International. The picture above shows the audience standing at a ceremony held during the Congress. The picture below shows, Hanan Awwad, on the left, president of the Palestinian Centre (1992-), delivering the Centre’s opening address. Seated beside her is Mariella Sala Eguren, Board member of Women’s WORLD (1986-), a global free speech network of feminist writers that was established at the 48^th PEN International Congress in New York in 1986.
