Photograph of Carles Torner, executive director of PEN International (2014-20) and chair of the Translation and Linguistic Rights Committee (1996-2002), presenting the Universal Declaration of Linguistic Rights at the World Conference on Linguistic Rights, which was organised by the TLRC and Escarré International Center for Ethnic Minorities and Nations (CIEMEN), with support from UNESCO. This conference took place on 6-8 June 1996 at the University of Barcelona.
