Photograph of Louis Jolicoeur (on the right), chair of the Quebecois Centre’s Translation and Linguistic Rights Committee (2019-21), speaking about the Quebec Declaration on Literary Translation and Translators at a meeting of the TLRC held in Johannesburg on 10-11 March 2016. Seated on the left is Ismaïlia Samba Traoré, president of the Malian Centre (2015-). The Quebec Declaration, which was adopted at the 81st PEN International Congress held in Quebec City on 13-16 October 2015, contains a six-point summary of the principles and objectives that PEN aims to promote in the area of literary translation.
