Hanan Awwad in Mali

Photograph of Hanan Awwad, third from the left on the second row, president of the Palestinian Centre (1992-), at an event held with the Women’s Union in Mali. As well as a PEN Centre president, Awwad is also the president of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) in Palestine, which she founded in 1988 and represents on an international level. The Palestinian ambassador in Mali at that time can be seen seated beside Awwad.
