Terry Carlbom at Palestinian poetry festival

Two photographs of writers and PEN members gathered for the Palestinian Centre’s 6^th International Poetry Festival, which took place in Jerusalem, Nablus and Bethlehem on 1-4 October 1999. This event, which promoted Palestinian literature, drew together poets and writers from countries across the world, and included Rami Hamdallah, President of the Palestinian National Authority (2014-19), as a guest of honour. The photograph above shows the audience seated during an event. The photograph belows shows PEN members including Hanan Awwad, second from the left, president of the Palestinian Centre (1992-), and Terry Carlbom, second from the right, international secretary of PEN International (1998-2004).

Este evento de promoción de la literatura palestina reunió poetas y escritores de todo el mundo, y contó con Rami Hamdallah, presidente de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina (2014-19) como invitado de honor.
