Two photographs of writers and PEN members gathered for the Palestinian Centre’s 6^th International Poetry Festival, which took place in Jerusalem, Nablus and Bethlehem on 1-4 October 1999. This event, which promoted Palestinian literature, drew together poets and writers from countries across the world, and included Rami Hamdallah, President of the Palestinian National Authority (2014-19), as a guest of honour. The photograph below shows a conference that took place during the festival, with Hamdallah seated at the head of the table, and Hanan Awwad, president of the Palestinian Centre (1992-), seated to his right. The photograph above shows the audience seated at another ceremony held for the festival.
