Resolution supporting Václav Havel
Resolution issued by the East German Centre (here referred to as PEN Zentrums DDR) in Berlin on 1 March 1989. In this resolution the Centre pledges its support and calls for immediate release of Václav Havel, last President of Czechoslovakia (1989-92) and first President of the Czech Republic (1993-2003), who was sentenced to nine months in prison for his role in human rights demonstrations in Czechoslovakia.
