Damaged furniture at Kurdish Centre

Photograph of damaged cabinets and overturned furniture in the Kurdish Centre’s offices. On 2 February 2016, the offices of the Kurdish Centre in Sur Amed-Diyarbakir were attacked and raided. This took place during a time of national emergency in Turkey, when freedom of expression was critically compromised as Kurdish literary institutions and writers became targets of attack. This photograph was most likely taken by a member of the Kurdish Centre around that time.

Fotografía de armarios y muebles dañados y tirados al suelo en las oficinas del Centro Kurdo. El 2 de febrero de 2016, las oficinas del Centro Kurdo, situadas en Sur Amed-Diyarbakir, fueron atacadas y saqueadas.
