This issue of the Ugandan Centre’s newsletter features an opening article by Danson Kahyana, president of the Centre (2014-19) and Board member of PEN International (2020-), which describes a staff hand-over that took place at Gayaza High School PEN Club in a ceremony presided over by the Ugandan Centre on 26 July 2003. The Ugandan Centre established PEN Clubs in schools across Uganda, such as this one in Gayaza, under a scheme initiated in 2002. The picture accompanying the article features Timothy Wangusa, first president of the Centre (2001-05), standing and addressing the room.

El Centro Ugandés fundó PEN Clubs en escuelas del país, como esta en Gayaza, bajo un programa iniciado en 2002. En la fotografía que acompaña al artículo se observa a Timothy Wangusa, primer presidente del Centro (2001-05), de pie, hablando al público.
