Cover of The Ugandan PEN Vol. 2, no. 1 (August 2003): 1. This issue of the Ugandan Centre’s newsletter features an opening article by Danson Kahyana, president of the Centre (2014-19) and Board member of PEN International (2020-), which describes a staff hand-over that took place at Gayaza High School PEN Club in a ceremony presided over by the Ugandan Centre on 26 July 2003. The Ugandan Centre established PEN Clubs in schools across Uganda, such as this one in Gayaza, under a scheme initiated in 2002. The picture accompanying the article features Timothy Wangusa, first president of the Centre (2001-05), standing and addressing the room.

El Centro Ugandés fundó PEN Clubs en escuelas del país, como esta en Gayaza, bajo un programa iniciado en 2002.
