This issue of the Ugandan Centre’s newsletter features an opening article by Danson Kahyana, president of the Centre (2014-19) and Board member of PEN International (2020-), which reports on a series of workshops held by the Ugandan Centre in schools during November 2003 under the theme “Harnessing the Writing Talent”. A second article by Kahyana describes a lecture given by Timothy Wangusa, first president of the Centre (2001-05), on 19 November 2003 at the Ugandan Christian University after his appointment as Research Professor in the Faculty of Education.
