Among them are: Casimiro de Brito, co-founder and president of the Portuguese Centre (1990-2009), end on the left of the front row; Pedro Tamen, president of the Portuguese Centre (1987-90), second from the right on the front row; Teresa Cadete (also known as Teresa Salema), president of the Portuguese Centre (2009-17) and vice-chair of the Writers for Peace Committee (2009-15), in the very forefront of the picture, first on the right on the front row; and the Angolan writer and politician Uanhenga Xitu, first on the right on the back row, opposite Cadete. The title of this Congress was Language And Literatures: Unity And Diversity.
