From left to right are: Pedro Tamen, president of the Portuguese Centre (1987-90); Teresa Cadete (also known as Teresa Salema), president of the Portuguese Centre (2009-17) and vice-chair of the Writers for Peace Committee (2009-15); and Maria Velho da Costa, co-founder of the Portuguese Centre and recipient of the Camões Prize in 2002. The title of this Congress was Language And Literatures: Unity And Diversity.
