PEN Conference in Accra

Photograph of PEN members at a conference held in Accra in 2005 in preparation for the 73rd PEN International Congress in Dakar, Senegal, 4-7 July 2007, titled The World and Human Values. This conference was supported by UNESCO and hosted by the Ghanaian Centre, and aimed to initiate plans for sustained collaboration between the African PEN Centers as well as select a theme for the Congress. Among them are: the Ghanaian poet an professor Kofi Anyidoho, second from the left; Joanne Leedom-Ackerman, international secretary (2004-07) and vice-president emeritus of PEN International, third from the left; and Frankie Asare-Donkoh, president of the Ghanaian Centre (1995-), standing at the podium.

Fotografía de miembros de PEN en una conferencia celebrada en Accra, 2005, para preparar el 73o Congreso de PEN Internacional, que tuvo lugar del 4 al 11 de julio de 2007, en Dakar, Senegal, y se tituló The World and Human Values. Esta conferencia tuvo el apoyo de la UNESCO y fue organizada por el Centro Ghanés, para inciar un plan de colaboración a largo plazo entre los Centros EPN africanos, así como para escoger el título para el Congreso.
