Swedish Centre’s Empty Chair
Sculpture of a PEN Empty Chair commissioned by the Swedish Centre in 2011. Since the 1980s PEN International has used the Empty Chair at events to symbolise writers who could not be present due to imprisonment, detainment, persecuton, threat or murder.
