Sophia Wadia and Victoria Ocampo

Photograph of Sophia Wadia, seated in the centre, founder of the All-India Centre in 1933, with her sister, Ditabai, on the left, speaking with Victoria Ocampo, on the right, first vice-president of the Argentinian Centre. This photo was taken during the 14th PEN International Congress in Buenos Aires, 1936, which took place on 5-15 September. In January 1937 Ocampo renounced her membership to the Argentinian Centre due to political tensions arising between members.

Cette photo a été prise lors du 14e Congrès de PEN International qui s'est tenu à Buenos Aires, du 5 au 15 septembre 1936. En janvier 1937, Ocampo s'est désaffiliée du Centre argentin lorsque des tensions d'ordre politique ont vu le jour entre les membres.
