García Lorca at Café Tortoni

Photograph of PEN members at a gathering hosted by La Sociedad Argentina de Autores in honour of Federico García Lorca, who visited Buenos Aires in 1933 to direct the Argentinian premiere of Bodas de sangre. Handwritten captions on the reverse side of the photograph note that members at the gathering included the Argentinian artist and poet Emilia Bertolé, second on the left on the back row, and Alberto Gerchunoff, an early member of the Argentinian Centre, fourth on the left on the back row – who are both seated either side of García Lorca himself. This meeting took place in Café Tortoni in Buenos Aires in November 1933.

Photographie de membres du PEN à un rassemblement organisé par la Sociedad Argentina de Autores en l'honneur de Federico García Lorca, qui visitait Buenos Aires en 1933 afin de diriger la première en sol argentin de Bodas de sangre. Des notes manuscrites au verso de la photo mentionnent que parmis les membres rassemblés se trouvaient : l'artiste et poète argentine Emilia Bertolé, deuxième sur la gauche dans le rang du fond, et Alberto Gerchunoff, un des premiers membres du Centre argentin, quatrième sur la gauche dans le rang du fond (les deux étant assis de chaque côté de García Lorca). Cette rencontre a eu lieu au Café Tortoni, à Buenos Aires, en novembre 1933.

Fotografía de miembros PEN en un encuentro organizado por La Sociedad Argentina de Autores en honor de Federico García Lorca, que visitó Buenos Aires en 1933 para dirigir el estreno en Argentina de Bodas de sangre. Notas manuscritas en el reverso de la fotografía indican que entre los asistientes al evento estuvieron la artista y poeta Emilia Bertolé, segunda empezando por la izquierda en la fila de atrás, y Alberto Gerchunoff, uno de los primeros miembros del Centro Argentino, cuarto empezando por la izquierda en la fila de atrás. Lorca se encuentra sentado entre ellos dos. Esta reunión tuvo lugar en el Café Tortoni en Buenos Aires, en noviembre de 1933.
