Protesting new cyber security law
Electronically typed open letter from the Vietnamese Abroad Centre, Oviedo, 12 June 2018; heading: «Letter of Objection: Protesting Vietnam’s New Cyber Security Law Granting Unlimited Powers to Infringe on the Freedoms of Expression and Association», ff. 2. In this open letter, which is signed on behalf of the Vietnamese Abroad Centre by Lloyd Duong, their president (2018-20), the Centre protest a new cyber security law drafted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security granting powers to security forces to infringe upon freedom of expression and association. The Centre also calls upon the Vietnamese government to allow Vietnamese citizens peacefully protesting both this law and a proposed legislation allowing China to lease of Vietnamese territories to safely exercise their right to do so without threat of arrest.
