Dương Thành Lợi (Lloyd Duong)

Photograph of Dương Thành Lợi (Lloyd Duong), president of the Vietnamese Abroad Centre (2018-20). Upon becoming president, Lloyd Duong, who left Vietnam as a refugee when he was a teenager and later became a lawyer in Canada, set out a mission and motto for the Centre: “Promote the Voices of Conscience and the Echoes of Compassion of Vietnamese across the Globe.” During his presidency Duong has fought to protect human rights and promote freedom of expression, ammended the Centre’s by-laws and regulations, and held celebrations for the Centre’s 40^th anniversary.

Después de convertirse en presidente, Lloyd Duong, que dejó Vietnam como refugiado de adolescente y que se convirtió en abogado en Canadá, creó el lema y misión del Centro: «Promote the Voices of Conscience and the Echoes of Compassion of Vietnamese across the Globe.» Durante su presidencia, Duong ha luchado para proteger los derechos humanos, los derechos humanos y promover la libertad de expresión, modificó las regulaciones y ordenanzas del Centro, y organizó las celebraciones para el 40 aniversario del Centro.
