Letter from the French Centre Board to French Centre members, [Paris], 9 June 1983; heading: «P.E.N. Club français», f. 1. This letter invites members to join the French Centre’s 1983 Annual General Meeting, which took place on 23 June in Paris. The meeting was followed by a dinner held at the Eiffel Tower, which the invitation notes was selected as a venue based on its symoblic representation of freedom in France. The invitation also notes that the philosopher and writer Jean-François Revel was to given an address titled ‘Les Intellectuels et la Liberté’. This item was contributed by Danielle Dordet.

Carta de la junta del Centro Francés a los miembros del Centro Francés, [París], 9 junio 1983, membrete: «P.E.N. Club français», f. 1. Esta carta invita a los miembros a asistir a la asamblea general anual del Centro Francés de 1983, que tuvo lugar el 23 de junio en París. Después de la asamblea hubo una cena en la Torre Eiffel, que, según especifica la invitación, fue el espacio escogido por ser el símbolo de la libertad en Francia.
