Empty Chair for Idris Said Aba Arre

Poster used for the empty chair dedicated to Eritrean writer Idris Said Aba Arre, and signed by the members of various Centres during the biennial ICORN Network Meeting and PEN International Writers in Prison Conference, which was held in Lillehammer from 31 May to 2 June 2017 and titled In Other Words. Aba Arre was arrested in October 2001 after having voiced criticisms against the government of Eritrea. He has been detained incommunicado, without charges, ever since. The portrait was drawn by Maxine Young.

Aba Arre a été arrêté en octobre 2001 après avoir émis des critiques à l'endroit du gouvernement d'Érythrée. Il est détenu au secret depuis, sans qu'aucune accusation n'ait été portée contre lui. Cartel usado para la silla vacía dedicada al escritor eritreo Idris Said Aba Arre, firmado por miembros de varios Centros durante la reunión bienal conjunta entre ICORN y el Comité de Escritores en Prisión de PEN Internacional, celebrada en Lillehammer del 31 de mayo al 2 de junio de 2017, con el título In Other Words. Aba Arre fue detenido en octubre de 2001 después de haber criticado el gobierno de Eritrea. Ha permanecido incomunicado, sin cargos, desde entonces. El retrato es obra de Maxine Young.
