Manuel Gálvez

Photograph of Manuel Gálvez [c. 1918] founder and first president of the Argentinian Centre. Gálvez was a novelist, poet, essayist, historian and biographer, and founded the Centre alongisde Eduardo Mallea in Buenos Aires on 8 April 1930. The Argentinian Centre was the second oldest PEN Centre to be set up in Latin America, the first being the Mexican Centre, which was founded in 1924.

Gálvez, un romancier, poète, essayiste, historien et biographe, a fondé le Centre argentin avec Eduardo Mallea à Buenos Aires, le 8 avril 1930. Le Centre argentin était le second plus ancien Centre PEN en Amérique latine, le premier étant Mexico, fondé en 1924.
