The PEN Club of Brazil, founded on April 2, 1936, appeared in the cultural and literary scene under the banner of freedom of thought and expression and the declaration of the necessity of regular association among writers committed to such principles beyond the limits set by borders. This program which started in London in 1921 faced real challenges when it was brought to Brazil.

Centro Brasileño

El PEN Brasileño, constituido el 2 de abril de 1936, apareció en la escena cultural y literaria enarbolando la bandera de la libertad de pensamiento y expresión. Fue una declaración de la necesidad que tenían los escritores comprometidos con esos principios de relacionarse regularmente, traspasando los límites marcados por las fronteras. La asociación se fundó en Londres, en 1921, y se enfrentó a verdaderos desafíos cuando se introdujo en Brasil.
