Moe Yan Naing and his Wife

Photograph of Moe Yan Naing and his wife, Daw Tu Tu, talking at an event that had been organised on International Women Day 2019, on 8 March, by the Women Writers Committee (WWC) of the Myanmar Centre, as part of the worldwide #BalanceForBetter gender equality campaign. The event took place in the offices of the Myanmar Centre, in Yangon. Moe Yan Naing, a former police officer, was jailed from April 2018 to February 2019 after his whistleblowing regarding the imprisonment of Reuters journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo by the Myanmar police. The Myanmar Centre presented Moe Yan Naing with a Man of the Year award on 22 December 2018, for his outstanding defense of free expression.

Le Centre du Myanmar a décerné à Moe Yan Naing le prix de l'Homme de l'Année, le 22 décembre 2018, pour sa défense exceptionnelle de la liberté d'expression.
