This conference was organised by the Malian Centre and took place in Bamako on 19-21 September 2016. It was held as a preparatory workshop for the 2^nd Colloque International des Écrivains, Journalistes et Communicateurs Traditionnels, a literary colloquium that was organised by the Malian Centre and Mouvement Malivaleurs and held in Bamako from 29 November to 2 December 2016. The theme of this colloquium was “The rise of violent extremism as a threat to the state, social cohesion, rights and freedoms”.
