TLRC meeting in Barcelona

Photograph of a meeting organised by PEN International’s Translation and Linguistic Rights Committee, which took place on 21-23 April 2015 in Barcelona. At this meeting the Quebec Declaration on Literary Translation and Translators was finalised. The Quebec Declaration forms part of PEN International’s broad strategy to promote literary creativity and collaboration between cultures, as well as defend the art of translation. It was officially approved at the 81st PEN International Congress in Québec, 13-16 October 2015, which was titled Translation = Creation = Freedom.

Photographie d'une réunion organisée par le Comité de Traduction et Droits linguistiques de PEN International, qui a eu lieu les 21-23 avril 2015 à Barcelone. Lors de cette rencontre, la Déclaration de Québec sur la traduction littéraire, les traductrices et les traducteurs a été finalisée. La Déclaration de Québec fait partie d'une stratégie plus large de PEN International visant à promouvoir la créativité littéraire et la collaboration entre les cultures, ainsi qu'à défendre l'art de la traduction. Elle a été officiellement adoptée lors du 81e Congrès de PEN International qui a eu lieu à Québec, les 13-16 octobre 2015, et qui avait pour titreTranslation = Creation = Freedom.

Fotografía del encuentro organizado por el Comité de Traducción y Derechos Lingüísticos de PEN Internacional (TLRC, por sus siglas en inglés), que tuvo lugar en Barcelona del 21 al 23 de abril de 2015. Durante esta reunión, se finalizó la Declaración de Quebec sobre la traducción literaria, las traductoras y los traductores. La Declaración de Quebec forma parte de la estrategia de PEN Internacional para promover la creación literaria y la colaboración entre culturas, así como para defender el arte de la traducción. Se aprobó oficialmente en el 81o Congreso de PEN Internacional en Quebec, del 13 al 16 de octubre de 2015, titulado Translation = Creation = Freedom.
