The Board at Bar San Roque
Two photographs of Paraguayan Centre members in Asunción. On the first Tuesday of every month, the Paraguayan Centre’s Board meets at Bar San Roque – an iconic meeting spot for Paraguayan writers and PEN members – keeping alive a tradition that has been ongoing since the Centre was first established in 1943. The lower photograph shows Nelson Aguilera and Oscar Pineda holding a poster with an illustration of Aguilera on it, which was used during the campaigns for Aguilera’s release after he was imprisoned on accusations of plagarism in 2013.
