Sheremet receiving Ales Adamovich Award

Photograph of Pavel Sheremet, Belarusian-born Russian and Ukrainian journalist, who can be seen standing on the far left of the stage, being awarded the Ales Adamovich Award, the Belarusian Centre’s annual non-fiction prize, at the 2nd International Conference in Defense of Democracy and Culture in Minsk, 1995. This conference took place from 31 August to 4 September and was titled Independent Press: Freedom and Responsibility. Two years later, in 1997, Sheremat was imprisoned by the Government of Belarus for his political activism, and was later killed in a car explosion in 2016.

Cheremet reçoit le Prix Ales Adamovich

Cette conférence a eu lieu du 31 août au 4 septembre et avait pour titre: Independent Press: Freedom and Responsibility. Deux ans plus tard, en 1997, Cheremat était emprisonné par le Gouvernement bélarusse pour son militantisme politique. Il a été tué en 2016, dans l'explosion de sa voiture.
