Saint Petersburg Centre
The St. Petersburg PEN CLUB emerged as an independent public organisation in 1994. While a number of St. Petersburg-based writers had become members of the Russian PEN Centre by that time, they wanted to not only obtain membership in this reputable international organisation, but also have an active PEN hub here in St. Petersburg. Everyone considered being part of the international literary and political landscape an important and exciting prospect.

Centro de San Petersburgo
El Centro PEN de San Petersburgo se creó como organización pública independiente en 1994. Aunque varios escritores de San Petersburgo se habían asociado al Centro PEN Ruso por aquel entonces, no solo querían ser miembros de esta reputada organización internacional, sino también tener un Centro PEN activo aquí en San Petersburgo. Todos consideraban que era importante y apasionante formar parte del panorama literario y político internacional.
