PEN International /Colombia, initially thought of as a writers’ ‘club’ – founded in its last iteration in 1983, in Bogotá – has become an open and pluralist, autonomous and democratic association. Its work is based on the three philosophical principles of PEN International: development of the literary field, freedom of expression and defence of human rights.

Initialement pensé comme un « club » d’écrivains, le Centre PEN colombien pour les écrivains a finalement été fondé en 1983, à Bogota, sous la forme d’un centre du PEN International, et est devenu une association ouverte et pluraliste, autonome et démocratique, basée sur les trois principes philosophiques du PEN International : le développement du domaine littéraire, la liberté d’expression et la défense des droits de l’homme.

Centro Colombiano

La Corporación PEN Internacional / Colombia, pensada inicialmente como ‘club’ de escritores –fundada en su última etapa en 1983, en Bogotá–, deviene una asociación abierta y pluralista, autónoma y democrática, sustentada siempre en los tres principios filosóficos del PEN International: desarrollos del campo literario, libertad de expresión y defensa de los derechos humanos.
