Photograph of attendees and participants at the opening of the PEN Youth Club, a creative writing programme for students initiated by the Ghanaian Centre. The Ghanaian Centre was the first African PEN Centre to introduce and establish a creative writing programme for students, forming PEN Youth Clubs in 1998 in senior secondary schools across Ghana. This particular event took place at Ada Senior High Technical School in Accra in 1998. Among those seen here are Veronica Boatey, first from the left, treasurer of the Ghanaian Centre at the time, and Frankie Asare-Donkoh, fifth from the left, president of the Centre (1995-).
