This delegation, which was composed of more than 20 members, visited Turkey in order to call on the Turkish government to take “quick and concrete action” to reverse an alarming rise in the number of writers, journalists, translators, and publishers being imprisoned or put on trial in the country. During the visit the delegation also met with Abdullah Gül, President of Turkey (2007-14) and Egemen Bağış, the Minister for European Union Affairs (2011-13).
