PEN International press conference in Dharamsala

Torner and Clement visited the Tibetan Writers Abroad Centre as a delegation from PEN International, meeting with Centre members and political figures to discuss international support for Tibetan writers and Tibetan people forced into exile. The delegation also received an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, during which the damage inflicted upon Tibetan land and rivers was discussed and the Dalai Lama gave “full support” to PEN’s efforts in protecting persecuted writers.
