PEN dinner in New York

Photograph of an early literary gala held by the American Centre (referred to here as The PEN Club) on 25 November [1930] at the Commodore Hotel (now the Grand Hyatt) in New York. A handwritten caption in the bottom right hand corner of the photograph notes that this dinner was dedicated to Sinclair Lewis, the first American writer to recieve the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1930.

Photographie d’un gala littéraire organisé par le Centre américain (appellé ici le PEN Club) le 25 novembre [1930] au Commodore Hotel (aujourd'hui, le Grand Hyatt), à New York. Une note écrite à la main, dans le coin inférieur droit de la photo, précise que le dîner était dédié à Sinclair Lewis, le premier écrivain américain à recevoir le Prix Nobel de littérature, en 1930.
