PEN delegates with Marcelo Ebrard

Ebrard can be seeing standing in the centre of the group, between Eric Lax (fifth from the right), treasurer (2007-13) and vice-president of PEN International (2019-), and John Ralston Saul, (seventh from the right), president of PEN International (2009-15). Amongst others present are: Émile Martel, fourth from the left, president of the Quebecois Centre (2000-16); Jennifer Clement, fourth from the left, president of PEN International (2015-); and Hori Takeaki, third from the left, secretary (2010-16) and vice-president of PEN International (2016-). This meeting took place as part of PEN Protesta!, a protest campaign organised by PEN International and the Mexican Centre, which aimed to act as a public demonstration of solidarity and an official appeal for accountability for the rising cases of murdered or disappeared journalists in Mexico.
