Paraguayan Centre’s Day of the Dead panel
Photograph of members from the Paraguayan Centre at a panel event held as part of PEN International’s Day of the Dead Campaign – an initiative that was launched on 2 November 2011 as a means of annually commemorating writers and journalists who have been murdered, or who have disappeared, as a result of their work. The final three panellists on the right, from left to right, are: Víctor-Jacinto Flecha, vice-president of the Paraguayan Centre (2017-); Emi Kasamatsu, president of the Paraguayan Centre (2007-12; 2017-19); and Alejandro Hernández, member of the Centre’s Board. This event took place at Biblioteca Municipal Augusto Roa Bastos in Asunción on 2 November 2018. At the event a booklet titled Verdad y libertad más allá de la muerte was distributed to those who had attended.
