Painting of the Ukranian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov by the American artist Molly Crabapple, which was created as part of the American Centre’s 2017 campaign calling for Senstov’s release. In May 2014, Sentsov was jailed in Russia for his protests against the annexation of Crimea. The American Centre, alongside PEN International and PEN Centres, fought against his imprisonment, and on 7 September 2019 Senstov was released from a penal colony after more than five years in detention.
