Maria Kuncewiczowa

Photograph of the Polish writer, novelist, and member of the Polish Centre Maria Kuncewiczowa, taken in 1979. In 1939 Kuncewiczowa helped establish and became the president of the Polish Centre in Exile, which was based in London as a provisional method of maintaining contact with Polish writers during wartime.
