Margaret Atwood’s PEN Pinter Prize
Cartoon by the artist Martin Rowson for the 2016 PEN Pinter Prize. Each year, the English Centre presents the winner of the PEN Pinter Prize with a cricket-themed cartoon of themselves, with Harold Pinter – an avid cricketer and former vice-president of the English Centre – usually watching from the sidelines. The recipient in 2016 was Margaret Atwood, president of the Canadian Centre (1984-86), who can be seen batting whilst Pinter and the prize’s previous winners spectate from the bench.
