Interview with Folu Agoi

Video of an interview with Folu Agoi filmed by the Nigerian Centre on 21 March 2019 at the Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED) in Epe. In this video Agoi, president of the Nigerian Centre (2017-), speaks about his vision for the Centre and the efforts he has made to promote literature and uphold freedom of expression in Nigeria during his time as president. Agoi mentions the work undertaken to unite writers under threat of censorship, and notes the empowerment felt by those who contributed to an anthology compiled by the Centre in 2019. This interview was conducted after an event held by the Nigerian Centre for World Poetry Day, which commemorated the life and work of the Canadian-based Nigerian scholar, author and columnis Pius Adesanmi. The title of this event was What Poetry Is, What Poetry Is Not.
