International Women’s Day event in Dharamsala
Photograph of the audience and speakers at an event organised by the Tibetan Writers Abroad Centre for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2016. This event was held at the Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute of Buddhist Dialectics in Dharamsala, and was attended by over 250 female participants. Speakers at the conference included five Tibetan women writers and three nun writers who explored issues relating to freedom of expression and dangers facing women writers. The event was also used to highlight five cases of women who have been arrested by Chinese authorities: Tsering Woser, Jamyang Kyi, Norzim Wangmo and Yeshi Choedon.
