Four panellists at the 2nd writer’s colloquium

Photograph of four panellists at the 2nd Colloque International des Écrivains, Journalistes et Communicateurs Traditionnels, which was organised by the Malian Centre and Mouvement Malivaleurs and held at Hôtel Massaley in Bamako from 29 November to 2 December 2016. From left to right are: Ismaïlia Samba Traoré, president of the Malian Centre (2015-); Alfousseyni Diawara from the Department of Public Rights of the University of Law and Political Science of Bamako; Urbain Amoa, writer from Côte d’Ivoire; and Cecilia Balcázar, Board member of PEN International (2002-05; 2006-09), president (1996-2006) and president emerita of the Colombian Centre. The theme of this colloquium was “The rise of violent extremism as a threat to the state, social cohesion, rights and freedoms” and this particular panel event took place on its second day, 30 November 2016.

De izquierda a derecha: Ismaïlia Samba Traoré, presidente del Centro Maliense (2015-); Alfousseyni Diawara, del departamento de Derechos Públicos de la Universidad de Derecho y Ciencias Políticas de la Universidad de Bamako; Urbain Amoa, escritor de Costa de Marfil; y Cecilia Balcázar, miembro de la junta de PEN Internacional (2002-05; 2006-09), presidenta (1996-2006) y presidenta emérita del Centro Colombiano.
