First house of the Afghan Centre

Photograph of a group of members from the Norwegian and Afghan Centres standing outside the first house of the Afghan Centre, which was established in Kabul in 2003. William Nygaard, then board member and later president of the Norwegian Centre (2013-19), can be seen standing on the far right. This photograph was taken by Eugene Schoulgin, member of the Norwegian and Swedish Centres, president of the Writers in Prison Committee (2000-04), international secretary (2007-10) and vice-president of PEN International (2004-), who visited Afghanistan in 2003 as part of a delegation from the Norwegian Centre, which helped establish the Afghan Centre. Schoulgin’s handwritten captions can be seen on the reverse side of the photograph.

Cette photo a été prise par Eugene Schoulgin, membre des Centres norvégien et suédois, président du Comité des Écrivains en Prison (2000-04), secrétaire international (2007-10) et vice-président de PEN International (2004-), lors d'une visite en Afghanistan, en 2003, avec une délégation du Centre norvégien visant à aider à la création du Centre afghan. William Nygaard, entonces miembro de la Junta y posteriormente presidente del Centro Noruego (2013-19) se encuentra al extremo derecho de la imagen. Esta fotografía fue tomada por Eugene Schoulgin, miembro de los Centros Noruego y Sueco, presidente de Comité de Escritores en Prisión (2000-04), secretario internacional (2007-10) y vicepresidente de PEN Internacional (2004-), durante una visita a Afganistán en 2003 con una delegación del Centro Noruego, que ayudó a establecer el Centro Afgano.
